Chicken for Linda!
The mission of the Centre d'art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise (CAECQ) is to primary program Quebec-made documentaries and independent fiction, as well as international documentaries, animated and foreign films, while encouraging opportunities for meetings between the public and the artists. Its programming is presented in conjunction with the Cinémathèque québécoise’s under the label New releases.
Special admission of $11 for sessions on April 27 and 28.

Paulette feels guilty after unjustly punishing her daughter Linda and would do anything to make it up to her. Even a chicken with peppers when she can’t cook. But how can she find chicken on a general strike?
The film will be presented in French, without English subtitles.
Chiara Malta
Chiara Malta is an Italian director, screenwriter, actress, and cinematographer. She has directed several short films, including a trilogy dedicated to childhood, which have been selected and awarded at numerous international festivals. After the documentary feature Armando e la politica for La Lucarne (Arte/ZDF), she became a resident of the Villa Medici. Her first fiction feature film, Simple Women, starring Jasmine Trinca and Elina Löwensohn, was the opening film of the Discovery section at TIFF in 2019. She regularly directs episodes for the French series Chronicles of the Sun and directed the first season of the series Antonia in Italy. Chicken for Linda! is her first animated feature film.

Sébastien Laudenbach
Director, illustrator, and teacher at the ENSAD (National School of Decorative Arts), Sébastien Laudenbach is the creator of around ten short films selected and awarded at numerous international festivals, as well as title sequences and music videos. With the feature film The Girl Without Hands (2016), presented at Cannes, awarded at Annecy, and nominated for the César, he develops a lively and unique, yet efficient narrative style.
