Synopsis

Red Fever is a witty and entertaining feature documentary about the profound — yet hidden — Indigenous influence on Western culture and identity. The film follows Cree co-director Neil Diamond on his journey to find out why the world is so fascinated with the stereotypical imagery of Native people that is all over pop culture.

Neil Diamond

Neil Diamond is from the Cree community, Waskaganish, on the coast of James Bay. Neil directed the award-winning feature documentary, Reel Injun, as well as One More River, Cree Spoken Here, and Heavy Metal: A Mining Disaster in Northern Quebec with Rezolution Pictures. His credits also include Inuit Cree Reconciliation, The Last Explorer and Dab Iyiyuu. He is an award winning photographer and co-founder of The Nation, the first news magazine to serve the Cree of northern Quebec and Ontario.

Catherine Bainbridge

Catherine Bainbridge is the co-founder, executive producer, and VP of business and creative development at Rezolution Pictures. She directed the Emmy-nominated, Sundance and CSA award-winning feature doc, RUMBLE: The Indians Who Rocked the World, and co-directed the Peabody and CSA award-winning feature doc, Reel Injun. Catherine is also an executive producer on the Crave Original series, Little Bird. Through her work at Rezolution, she has been instrumental in changing the narrative when it comes to diversity and representation in the entertainment industry.
