The Médiathèque Guy-L.-Coté is your access to the entire collections of the Cinémathèque québécoise!
You can access a vast selection of archives and works, from all eras and origins, on film, television, video and new media, with experienced archivists available to assist with research. Users can research several databases, including the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF). For those interested in history, current events as well as the future of the audiovisual industry, the Médiathèque Guy-L.-Coté is a must!
Please note that it is not possible to borrow items from the Mediatheque. To access our documents, including those related to cinema, television, video, and new media (screenplays, photographs, posters, etc.), you must make an appointment and visit the Mediatheque in person.

A number of special and rare collections expand the core collection. Among many other resources, these include:
- The Daniel Langlois Foundation collection at the Cinémathèque québécoise;
- The microfilm collection of rare or out-of-print magazines (Close-Up, Canadian Moving Picture Digest, Variety, Biograph, etc.);
- Original screenplays of foreign films;
- The GRAFICS collection on early cinema;
- Rare books on the prehistory and early days of cinema (1895 to 1914).
Books
The multilingual collection of books and monographs contains over 45,000 publications.
Journals
The periodicals collection includes an impressive international and multilingual collection of over 6,000 journal and magazine titles.

Press clippings
Over the decades, the Mediatheque has built up a unique collection of over 135,000 press clippings on filmmakers, actors, films, television programs, events, and local and international topics.
Videos for consultation
On site, the Médiathèque users can view more than 10,000 titles available on VHS or DVD. The catalog of videos for viewing includes a large portion of Quebec documentary and fiction productions, several cinema classics, notable contemporary international films, and a significant collection of Radio-Canada television programs.
