High & Low - John Galliano is the gripping and thought-provoking new documentary from Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald, charting the rise-and-fall story of fashion designer John Galliano. Galliano was widely recognized as one of the most successful names in 1990s and 2000s couture, until his career abruptly ended when he was caught on camera in 2011 hurling antisemitic and racist insults at bystanders in Paris. This compelling film traces Galliano’s working and private life through the decades, candidly investigating his struggles with addiction and the industry pressure he faced along the way. Featuring conversations with Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Penélope Cruz, Charlize Theron, Anna Wintour, Edward Enninful and more.

Kevin Macdonald

Kevin Macdonald was born in Glasgow in 1967. He has made numerous award winning documentaries and feature films, including One Day in September (Academy Award winner 1999), Touching the Void (BAFTA for Best British film 2003), The Last King of Scotland (Academy Award and BAFTA winner 2006), State of Play (2009), Life in a Day (2010), and bio-docs Sky Ladder, Marley, and Whitney. He has also worked as a producer on numerous documentaries including Senna, The Rescue, and Rebellion. His most recent feature film as a director, The Mauritanian was nominated for 5 BAFTAs including best film in 2021.
