Isabelle Jalbert
Director Administration and Building
ijalbert@cinematheque.qc.ca
Isabelle Jalbert has long been part of the cultural scene, from her youthful experiences as an usher at the Ouimetoscope to her recent arrival at the Cinémathèque.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from UQAM, she participated in the Symposium de Baie-Saint-Paul in 1994, as well as several group and solo shows. She worked at Galerie Graff and organized a conference on Quebec’s collective printmaking studios. She left the visual arts for the performing arts, working as head of communications and media relations for Usine C until 2000. During those same years she went on tour with Carbone 14 for the final performances of Âmes mortes.
After joining the cultural advertising agency Publicité Sauvage in 2001 as a sales representative, she rose to the position of general manager. After ten years in that role, she became Vice-President and a shareholder from 2015 to 2020. Among other things, she negotiated a partnership with BAnQ for the legal deposit of posters.
Endlessly inquisitive, in 2019 she earned a double executive master of business administration (EMBA) from ESG-UQAM and Université Paris-Dauphine. She is also a member of the board of Diffusion Momentum.
