The NFB, in partnership with the Sommets du cinéma d’animation, is pleased to invite you to an Artist’s Talk with Ryo Orikasa. Discover this award-winning Japanese filmmaker’s unique body of work (Datum Point, Writings Fly Away, Echo Chamber, etc.) and get a sneak peek at his new film!

During this talk, audiences will get a behind-the-scenes look at his latest project, Miserable Miracle, inspired by Henri Michaux’s original art and writing about his mescaline experiments. The filmmaker will be discussing his creative process and the techniques he employed (a unique blend of handwriting, painting, poetry and animation) to adapt and interpret Michaux’s transcendental experiences.
