Vaiana Gauthier was born in 1988 in Grasse. She studied animation at Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et du Textile in Roubaix, and continued her studies in Ecole des Métiers du Cinéma d'Animation in Angoulême and at L’école de la Poudrière. She directed the music video Marina and co-directed the short film Leaf (2016) with Dante Zaballa. Her graduation film First contacts (2018) is selected in many international festivals such as Cinanima (Portugal), OIAF (Canada), Animateka (Slovénia).
