Synopsis

Based on a true story, this film depicts the passionate fight of a farming village’s inhabitants in Ibaraki Prefecture against early 20th century devastating industrialization. Far from new, the dramatic clash between development in the name of progress and protection of the environment resonates with modern audiences, this historical tale still pertinent to this day.
