An Angel at My Table
Menace Ruine is an apocalyptic drone folk band. Geneviève Beaulieu and S. de la Moth agreed to curate a carte blanche film selection, which will be presented ahead of their concert at the Cinémathèque on October 30. Their eclectic and thought-provoking selection blends films by renowned directors with hidden gems, avoiding American cinema to better celebrate the richness of international filmmaking.

Jane Campion
Jane Campion is a New Zealand director and screenwriter. In 1993, she won the Palme d'or at the Cannes Film Festival for her film The Piano. She was the first female filmmaker in history to receive this prestigious award. In May 2014, she became the first woman to preside over the feature film jury at the 67th Cannes Film Festival. She also made history by being the first woman to receive two Oscar nominations for Best Director, first in 1993 for The Piano and then in 2022 for The Power of the Dog, for which she ultimately won the award.
