Arsenault & Fils
We have the opportunity to showcase a few films that have shine in the past few months in Quebec. While we await the winner of the Prix collégial du cinéma québécois, let's discover - or rediscover the nominated films of Monia Chokri, Pascal Plante, Ariane Louis-Seize, Henry Bernadet and Jacquelyn Mills. A program of short films will also offer a glimpse at the next generation of filmmakers.
En présence du réalisateur
The Arsenaults, a tightly knitted family, have ruled for generations in a small village in Bas-du-Fleuve, Quebec. The return of Anthony, the youngest of the family, then the arrival of Emilie, a radio host who exerts a strong influence on Anthony and especially his older brother Adam, will come to test the harmony of the clan.

Rafaël Ouellet is a director, photo director, producer and editor for television and film. He has worked on the program "Le Groulx Luxe - c'est n'importe quoi" broadcast on MusiquePlus in the summer of 2003 and the spring of 2004. Since 1999, he has produced over one hundred musical concerts, including the 2004 Juno nominated DVD of Our Lady Peace "Live in Alberta", several television projects and ten short films. His first four feature films, Le Cèdre penché (2007), Derrière moi (2008), New Denmark (2009) and Camion (2012), have received excellent critical acclaim. He is also the cinematographer of several independent shorts and edited Denis Côté's Les États nordiques (filmmaker), winner of the Golden Leopard (video) at Locarno. Some critics emphasized in particular how his direction, while being "free of fuss and stylistic effect", allows him to get as close as possible to the lived experience of his characters. He also directed the television series Nouvelle Adresse. In the spring of 2021, he shot Arsenault & fils, released in 2022.
