From one year to the next, the Cinémathèque québécoise takes the pulse of recent and current French cinema, in partnership with the Institut français, in order to follow the evolution of an increasingly diversified French production.

This is the farm where Thomas was born. This is his family. His brother, who won’t be coming back, his mother, who is going down the same road, and his father, who has always stood aloof. Thomas gets back to everything he ran away from twelve years ago. Only today, there is Alex, his six-year-old nephew, and Mona, the boy’s radiant mother.

Jessica Palud
Jessica Palud began her career as an assistant director in 2003, working on films such as Innocents - The Dreamers by Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci, and Marie-Antoinette by Sofia Coppola . She then collaborates on several other feature films with French director Philippe Lioret. Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas (2006), Welcome (2009) and Toutes nos envies. She also worked with Éric Lartigau on his film* L'Homme qui voulait vivre sa vie*. Her short film Marlon was selected for more than 150 festivals and won 40 international awards, including the UniFrance Grand Prix, the RTI Prize and the Grand Action Prize at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, and the Passages Prize at the Silhouette Festival in Paris. It was also nominated for the César for Best Short Film 2018. She then directed her first feature film, Revenir, and won the Best Screenplay award in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival.
