Ballad of a Small Player
The mission of the Centre d'art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise (CAECQ) is to primary program Quebec-made documentaries and independent fiction, as well as international documentaries, animated and foreign films, while encouraging opportunities for meetings between the public and the artists. Its programming is presented in conjunction with the Cinémathèque québécoise’s under the label New releases.

Edward Berger
Edward Berger is a Swiss and Austrian director and screenwriter nborn in Germany. He gathered his first work experience at the U.S. independent production company Good Machine, working, among others, on the films of Ang Lee and Todd Haynes. He also gave lectures at Columbia University, at Universität der Künste Berlin, and at the HFF Potsdam. For All Quiet on the Western Front, Berger won the Academy Award for Best International Film, and was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay,. He also won three British Academy Film Awards. For Conclave, Berger received his first Golden Globe nomination for Best Director and a BAFTA for Outstanding British Film. Ballad of a Small Player (2025) is his latest film.
