Synopsis

In a poverty-stricken village on a Louisiana bayou, six-year-old Hushpuppy lives with his sick and tortured father. When a giant storm causes the waters to rise and aurochs, freed from the ice of the Far North by global warming, swarm the area, a fight for survival begins. Benh Zeitlin's first feature film is a brilliant achievement, as much for its narrative and visual ambition as for its aptness of tone.
