Peter Hyams
Peter Hyams is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He also serves as the cinematographer on most of his films. He began his career as a journalist. He gained attention with his film Capricorn One, where a journalist uncovers a vast conspiracy aimed at making people believe that astronauts have landed on Mars. He is best known for directing science fiction films such as Outland (1981) and 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984), the sequel to Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, based on a novel by Arthur C. Clarke, as well as action films like Timecop (1994) and Sudden Death (1995), starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
