Ce vieux rêve qui bouge
The Musée d’art contemporain’s Skyscrapers by the Roots exhibition offers an opportunity to discover a new film installation by artist David Hartt. In parallel with the exhibition, we invite audiences to experience his video work in a movie theater, along with a complementary screening of Jacques Tati’s Playtime — a key reference for Lynne Cohen, another artist featured in the exhibition.
In a factory on the verge of closure, where only a handful of workers remain, a young technician comes to dismantle the last machine. While he works, the workers stroll and chat. But that's not all they do either... Fascinating, this medium-length film has become something of a mini-phenomenon thanks to the response it has received in France.

Alain Guiraudie
Alain Guiraudie is a French director, screenwriter and writer. In 1990, he directed his first short film, Les héros sont immortels, produced by the GREC. His film Ce vieux rêve qui bouge, won the Prix Jean Vigo and was presented at the Directors' Fortnight in 2001. That year, Jean-Luc Godard described it as "the Cannes Film Festival's best film". Alain Guiraudie then moved on to feature films with Pas de repos pour les braves, Voici venu le temps, Le roi de l'évasion and L'inconnu du lac, which opened his career to a wider audience. In 2016, his film Rester vertical was officially selected at the Cannes Film Festival. His latest film, Miséricorde, was once again presented at the festival, this time, in the Cannes Première section.
