Deaf Perspectives: We're Rolling!
Curated by Emilie Peltier, these works — conceived and told by filmmakers from the Deaf community, somewhere between documentary and fiction — are for the most part premiering in Montreal. By bringing together the Deaf and hearing communities and shining a light on a largely unseen cinema, we are celebrating the vitality of a narrative field that has yet to be fully explored.
The screening will be preceded by a 5-to-6 at the Cinémathèque québécoise bar and followed by a discussion with Alexandra Hickox, co-founder of the Unify Deaf Film Festival in Toronto, partner of this event.
Interpreters will be available to facilitate communication between the artists and the audience.
