A true cinephile and the foremost virtuoso of the video store era, he stormed onto the global stage of action and auteur cinema and has never left it. Watching his films back-to-back reveals a body of work built at a blistering pace, with a confidence that might sometimes make one forget the extreme attention to detail in the writing—from the narrative structure down to the smallest lines of dialogue.

Quentin Tarantino
Born in 1963 in Tennessee, Quentin Tarantino is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, actor, and writer. A fervent cinephile since a very young age, he gained international acclaim in the 1990s with his first two independant feature films, Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Pulp Fiction, which won the Palme d'or at the Cannes Film Festival. He also had commercial success internationally with Inglourious Basterds (2009), Django Unchained (2012) and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019), where he brilliantly crafts alternate history. In just ten films, his over-the-top direction, the incisive style of his dialogue, his taste for musical quotations, and his sense of homage (which has revitalized the careers of several actors and actresses) have earned him cult status among film lovers.
