Nicolas Winding Refn
Nicolas Winding Refn is a Danish filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, and actor. He directed the Pusher trilogy (1996-2005), the crime drama Bronson (2008), and the adventure film Valhalla Rising (2009), before having his Hollywood breakthrough with Drive (2011), starring Ryan Gosling. He won the Best Director Award of the Cannes Film Festival for the film. Refn's next films were the stylistically driven action film Only God Forgives (2013), and the psychological horror film The Neon Demon (2016). He then took ten years to return to the big screen with Her Private Hell (2026), screened at the latest edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
