While we wait for his new album, singer-songwriter Thierry Larose—a regular audience member at the Cinémathèque québécoise—shares a few films that have left a lasting impression on him as a cinephile and are deeply connected to his musical culture.

Having traveled to the Magdalen Islands to perform two shows and shoot a music video, the band Chocolat drinks two bottles of whisky too many, and events take an unexpected turn. Seven hours after landing, both shows are cancelled due to the trouble they caused. Their musical trip turns into a wandering journey across islands that have grown hostile to their presence.
Yan Giroux
Yan Giroux independently produced his documentaries between 2007 and 2012, allowing him to develop his vision, which would later grow with more resources and ambition in his fiction short films. In addition to being recognized locally, his shorts have been showcased in several international festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival. His first feature film, For Those Who Don’t Read Me (2018), won several awards at the Gala Québec Cinéma. My Son Came Back to Disappear (2025) is his second feature film.
