Elsewhere at Night
The mission of the Centre d'art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise (CAECQ) is to primary program Quebec-made documentaries and independent fiction, as well as international documentaries, animated and foreign films, while encouraging opportunities for meetings between the public and the artists. Its programming is presented in conjunction with the Cinémathèque québécoise’s under the label New releases.

Marianne Métivier
Marianne Métivier is a Canadian-Filipina director from Montreal. Her short film She Who Wears the Rain (2019) was selected at the Berlinale Shorts in 2020. She participated to the FeatureLab 2023 of Torino Film Lab with her first feature Elsewhere at Night (2025). She is currently working on a documentary called Back Home. Her work explores the sense of belonging and our relationship to the intangible.
