Synopsis

Faruk, a man in his 90s, becomes the central character of his daughter’s film about the impending demolition of his block of flats. Simultaneously, he attends building management meetings, hoping to delay the demolition process of the building he has been living in for decades. Gradually reality and fiction intertwine and the line between the two starts to blur.

Aslı Özge

Aslı Özge is a Turkish director, screenwriter and producer. She graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cinema and Television. During her time as a student, her short film Capital C was shown at many festivals and won prizes. After graduation, she settled in Berlin where she studied philosophy. In 2009, after a TV film and a documentary, she wrote and directed her third feature film, Men on the Bridge. Since then, has been working both in Turkey and Germany, directing four other films, including her two most recent ones: Black Box (2023) and Faruk (2024).
