Hurricane F.Y.T.
We have the opportunity to showcase a few films that have shine in the past few months in Quebec. While we await the winner of the Prix collégial du cinéma québécois, let's discover - or rediscover the nominated films of Jean-François Leblanc, Anne Émond, Steve Patry, Jonathan Beaulieu-Cyr and Matthew Rankin. A program of short films will also offer a glimpse at the best offerings of the year.
In the presence of the screenwriter and casting director, Tania Duguay Castilloux
In the gritty streets of 1991 Montreal, 11-year-old Delphis is struggling to survive amidst poverty and an unstable family life. One fateful night, he embarks on a journey to seize control of his destiny and adopts the persona of "L'Ouragan" (The Hurricane). With a lightning bolt emblazoned on his headband and his middle finger held high, he defiantly escapes a world that seems determined to cast him aside.
