In the Name of the Empress
Once a month, the Goethe-Institut collaborates with the Cinémathèque québécoise to present a significant work of contemporary German cinema: fiction films, documentaries, bold and entertaining productions by established and emerging filmmakers.
International Premiere
Romy, Karlheinz, and Magda Gustav, in search of the Fountain of Youth, encounter a witch. She informs them that among them is the reincarnation of Empress Elisabeth, but without specifying who it is. A contest then becomes necessary to guess who it might be.
Jovana Reisinger
Jovana Reisinger is a German writer, filmmaker, and visual artist. After she graduated in design, she studied screenwriting at the University of Television and Film Munich. She also graduated in documentary filmmaking in 2025. In the Name of the Empress is her first feature film.
