Aymeric runs into Florence, a former coworker, one evening in Saint-Claude in the Haut-Jura. She is six months pregnant and single. When she gives birth to Jim, Aymeric is there. They spend happy years together until Christophe, Jim's biological father, shows up... It could be the start of a melodrama, it's also the start of an odyssey into fatherhood.

Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu
Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu are French brothers and filmmakers. They discovered their passion at a young age thanks to one of their grandfather, from the Hautes-Pyrénées, who used to shot 16 mm films in the mountains. As teenagers, they shot Super 8 films before studying philosophy, and cinema. Starting their careers in the late 80s, the Larrieu brothers made numerous short films that were screened at festivals, including Les baigneurs (1991) and Bernard ou les apparitions (1993). They directed their first feature film, Fin d’été, in 1999. The following year, the medium-length film, La brèche de Roland, starring Mathieu Amalric, was heavily noticed at the Directors' Fortnight. Amalric went on to star in their second feature film, Un homme, un vrai (2003), and also appeared in Les derniers jours du monde (2008), L'amour est un crime parfait (2013), Tralala (2021) and Le roman de Jim (2024), their latest film. The brothers won the Best Screenplay award at the 2015 San Sebastián International Film Festival for 21 nuits avec Pattie, and the honorary Prix Jean-Vigo in 2020 for their entire body of work.
