In collaboration with the Festival CINEMANIA, we are showcasing four fiction films that delve into France's rich history and heritage. Each film also features a female protagonist at the heart of its narrative.
Nathalie and Louise are just out of their teens and would like to become actors. Nathalie knows how to act, Louise is bad. The night of this revelation, the two friends separate in violence and bitterness. Ten years later, Nathalie is on her way to becoming a star in the theater, Louise works with her husband in a dental laboratory.

Catherine Corsini
Catherine Corsini, née le 18 mai 1956 à Dreux, est une réalisatrice, scénariste et actrice française. En 1987, elle signe son premier long métrage, Poker, avec Caroline Cellier. Elle tourne ensuite pour la télévision Interdit d'amour, avec Nathalie Richard. Plus tard, en 1999, elle revient au grand écran son troisième opus avec La nouvelle Ève, avec Karin Viard dans le rôle principal. Son quatrième film, La répétition, est interprété Emmanuelle Béart et Pascale Bussières. Ce film fait partie de la sélection officielle du festival de Cannes 2001. Catherine Corsini traite notamment dans ses films des rapports amoureux et de la sexualité : Les amoureux et La répétition parlent de l'homosexualité.
