Ô rage électrique!
This recurring program showcases works from Québec’s audiovisual heritage, digitized and restored by the Cinémathèque québécoise, or thanks to its contribution. Since 2018, we have restored around fifty independent films thanks to the support of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec as part of its Digital Cultural Plan. Other works have been restored in collaboration with local or international cultural organisations, using elements preserved in our collections.
Ô rage électrique!, a blend of documentary and performance, treats us to a close-up on Plume Latraverse, this Quebec music legend, and his group Les Mauvais Compagnons. The first part of the film is a return to roots, to the early days of Plume’s career, told with the help of frequent but illustrative digressions. The unknown aspects of this star/anti-star are revealed by the antics of the members of his raucous group. And then comes the performance! Plume’s supershow, Québec Mer et Monde 84, with Plume Latraverse playing the part of Captain Hardrock ’n’ Roll. Medleys, new material, anything goes. Plume Latraverse glitters in the spotlight.
