Ravel in a Thousand Sparkles
The mission of the Centre d'art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise (CAECQ) is to primary program Quebec-made documentaries and independent fiction, as well as international documentaries, animated and foreign films, while encouraging opportunities for meetings between the public and the artists. Its programming is presented in conjunction with the Cinémathèque québécoise’s under the label New releases.
This film is a musical and visual portrayal of the life of Maurice Ravel, featuring his timeless masterpieces and a look into his more intimate work through a variety of musical forms and theatrical scenes. His music is brought to life through stunning architecture, fascinating rooms and charming spaces. The use of 360° spatial sound recording and mixing gives viewers a unique and immersive sound experience, while cinematic techniques enhance the film with modern visuals.
