George Roy Hill
George Roy Hill was an American film director. His films include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) and The Sting (1973), both starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Both films earned him nominations for the Academy Award for Best Director; which he won for the latter. He also directed Newman in Slap Shot (1977), which became a cult classic in Quebec, largely driven by its Quebec dub. According to one obituary "few directors achieved such fame and success... even fewer enjoyed such eminence for such a short period of time."
