Ben Shockley is a failed cop who is assigned to protect a woman who is set to testify in a major trial. He has to escort her from Vegas to Phoenix, and he soon realizes that she is being targeted by people who will stop at nothing to kill her.
Clint Eastwood
Clint Eastwood is an American actor and film director. After achieving success in the Western TV series Rawhide, Eastwood rose to international fame with his role as the "Man with No Name" in Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy of spaghetti Westerns during the mid-1960s, and as the antihero cop in the Dirty Harry films throughout the 1970s and 1980s. These roles, among others, have made Eastwood an enduring cultural icon of masculinity. In 1968, he became a producer through his company Malpaso Productions, and directed his first film, Play Misty for Me (1971). He also directed films such as Unforgiven (1992), A Perfect World (1993), Mystic River (2003), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Gran Torino (2009), American Sniper (2014) and The Mule (2018). Initially known for his roles as tragic antiheroes who right wrongs in violent action films and westerns, he later took on more touching roles in films marked by a certain classicism, influenced by the classic cinema of John Ford and Howard Hawks. He is also renowned for his comedies. His longevity, depth, and numerous critical and commercial successes in both acting and directing have made him a major figure in American cinema. He has received many awards, including four Academy Awards, five Golden Globes, three César Awards, and the Palme d'honneur at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
