A retiree, who was a fisherman all his life, lives with his son and daughter-in-law. Having discovered an abandoned boat during one of his walks, he secretly undertakes to refloat it for one last voyage. Adaptation of the novel of the same name by Yves Thériault.
Denyse Benoit
Denyse Benoit is a Québécois film director, screenwriter, and actress. She is mostly known for La crue (1977), La belle apparence (1979), and Le dernier havre (1986). She also co-wrote Station Nord (2002) with Daniel Morin. Denyse Benoit studied painting and sculpture from 1966 to 1968 at the School of Fine Arts in Montreal. She then moved to Belgium to continue to broaden her education, studying at the Institute des arts de diffusion in Brussels. Once she obtained her diploma, she started an internship with actress and stage director Catherine Dasté in Paris. Back in Quebec, she taught theatre and did cultural animation in Gaspésie and Montreal. She wrote her first screenplays at the time. Luce Guilbeault made a documentary about her and her writing process in 1975.
