Peter Jackson

Sir Peter Jackson is a New Zealand filmmaker, producer, and screenwriter. He began his career with the splatstick horror comedy Bad Taste (1987) and the black comedy Meet the Feebles (1989), before directing the zombie comedy Braindead (1992), which earned him recognition among fantasy film fans. The critically acclaimed drama Heavenly Creatures (1994) officially launched his career. He acheived international fame with The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003), followed by the King Kong remake (2005) and The Hobbit trilogy (2012-2014). Starting in 2017, he worked on The Beatles: Get Back, a docu-series released online in 2021. Jackson has won three Academy Awards, including Best Director for The Return of the King in 2004. He is the fifth-highest-grossing film director of all-time, with his films having made over $6.5 billion worldwide.
