Once a month, the Goethe-Institut collaborates with the Cinémathèque québécoise to present a significant work of contemporary German cinema: fiction films, documentaries, bold and entertaining productions by established and emerging filmmakers.

In 1962, Johannes Leinert, together with his doctoral advisor, travels to a physics congress in the Swiss Alps, where an Iranian scientist is set to reveal a "groundbreaking theory of quantum mechanics". But when the physicists arrive at the five-star hotel, the Iranian guest is nowhere to be found.

Timm Kröger
Timm Kröger is a German film director, screenwriter, cinematographer, producer and film editor. After directing some shorts and documentaries, he made his feature film debut in 2014 with The Council of Birds, which premiered at the 71st Venice International Film Festival in the International Critics' Week sidebar. For this film he was awarded best director at the 2015 Belgrade International Film Festival. His second feature The Universal Theory entered the main competition at the 80th Venice International Film Festival.
