Synopsis

Seven years after the first edition of Roald Dahl's novel, Gene Wilder took on the role of the famous confectioner in this highly successful first adaptation, which has since become a classic of children's cinema. While the title of the book (and Tim Burton's subsequent adaptation) highlights the character of Charlie Bucket, Mel Stuart's film focuses on the owner of the factory, which caused a dispute between the production company and the author.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
Counting on Gene Wilder’s electric presence, this first adaptation of Roald Dahl’s novel is a fantastic feast with satiric and psychedelic overtones.
