Rencontre professionnelle #2

Date
January 16th, 2020

To understand the legal issues related to the opening, circulation and reuse of archives and data on the Web, professionals from various backgrounds discussed copyright and the public domain in the cultural industry. What possibilities do creative commons licenses and the Wikimedia Foundation's platforms offer? Which legal principles should be applied according to the corpus concerned (data, iconographic or audiovisual archives, etc)? What are the exceptions that archives, libraries and museums can benefit from?

Speakers: Lëa-Kim Châteauneuf (President of Wikimedia Canada, librarian, anthropologist and photographer), Olivier Charbonneau (Doctor of Law, librarian and researcher), Jean-François Palomino (Doctor of History) and William Kronström Richard (Lawyer specialised in copyright and access to information). The meeting was moderated by Marina Gallet and Emmanuel Château-Dutier.
