Under the direction of Ralph Elawani and Guillaume Lafleur, XPQ, traversée du cinéma expérimental québécois brings together interviews, essays, and documents that bear witness to the history of experimental cinema in Quebec.

The Cinémathèque québécoise is proud to collaborate with Éditions Somme toute and the brand new collection NITRATE, directed by Ralph Elawani, to publish X P Q, traversée du cinéma expérimental québécois.

This is the first book of its kind, illustrated by Marie-Douce St-Jacques, designed by Marie Tourigny and produced with Alice Michaud-Lapointe, André Habib, Anithe de Carvalho, Charles-André Coderre, Doriane Biot, Eric Fillion, Fabrice Montal, Monika Kin-Gagnon, Nour Ouayda, Marcel Jean and Marco de Blois.

This luminous book, conceived by Ralph Elawani and Guillaume Lafleur, is a richly illustrated collection of essays, interviews, photographs, manifestos and testimonials spanning more than 75 years of Quebec-made avant-garde.
