Welcome to the Cinémathèque québécoise
The Cinémathèque québécoise became a member of FIAF in 1964. That was over 60 years ago. The 2025 FIAF Congress therefore builds on a long history of friendship and cooperation between the Cinémathèque and its counterparts around the world. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our team and our colleagues in Quebec to meet and discuss with fellow archivists, programmers and film archive managers as members of a community brought together by a shared passion.
We are pleased to host the 2025 Congress; all those attending can expect to be warmly received, in true Montreal fashion. We look forward to welcoming you in our city at the crossroads of Francophone and Anglophone cultures, rooted in a deep respect for the First Nations who have long called this land home.

Located in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles, the Cinémathèque québécoise is Montreal’s museum of moving images. Its mission is to acquire, document and preserve the world’s audiovisual heritage, with an emphasis on Quebec and Canadian works as well as international animation, and to make it available for cultural and educational purposes.
See you in Montreal!
