A Question of Taste
Let's enjoy this Easter season, with its many culinary traditions, to explore a tempting style of cinema: films that honor victuals, those who prepare them and those who devour them. Gourmet and luscious - in restaurants or in private, food is a jubilant playground for cinema. Unifying, outrageous, virtuoso or explosive, the scenes of meals and food offer the perfect frame to parody or shake up human relations.
Frédéric Delamont, a wealthy industrialist with a phobia, meets a young temporary waiter in a restaurant, Nicolas Rivière. A few days later, the latter is received by Delamont who offers him to be his private taster. Delamont then shapes him according to his desires. This unusual professional relationship quickly turns into a much more dangerous game for both men.

Une affaire de goût is Bernard Rapp's second film. His feature film directorial debut Tiré à part with Terence Stamp, Daniel Mesguich , Maria de Medeiros, Frank Finlay and Jean-Claude Dreyfus, was released in France in January, 1996.
