Majid Majidi
Majid Majidi made his debut as a director and screenwriter in 1992 with Baduk, his first feature film which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival and won several awards in Iran. Since then, he has written and directed several films that have won world-class awards, such as Bacheha-ye āsemān (Children of Heaven) in 1997. In the United States, his film Rang-e Khoda (1999) was selected as one of the top 10 films of the year in 2000 and set a box office record for an Iranian film in the United States. His feature film Barān (The Rain) won seven awards at the Fajr Film Festival.
