The mission of the Centre d'art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise (CAECQ) is to primary program Quebec-made documentaries and independent fiction, as well as international documentaries, animated and foreign films, while encouraging opportunities for meetings between the public and the artists. Its programming is presented in conjunction with the Cinémathèque québécoise’s under the label New releases.

Synopsis

From his studio in Poona, Maharashtra, Indo-American builder Christopher Benninger creates geometric architecture that blends Western modernism with the tropical Deccan climate. The film explores eight of his projects through the daily use of their inhabitants. An immersive dive into the world of a giant in the land of all senses.

Étienne Desrosiers

After studying Comparative Literature and Communications in Montreal, Etienne Desrosiers directed thirteen films screened at one hundred and fifty international festivals, including Kiev, Tokyo and Seattle. A freelance curator, he has presented several events here and abroad, including at New Delhi's Max Mueller Bhavan, Moscow's Kino35mm and the Australian Film Institute. He has written for Domus Magazine and worked with Todd Haynes (I'm Not There) and John Maybury (The Jacket).
