Jean-Jacques Beineix
Jean-Jacques Beineix was a French director, writer, screenwriter, film producer and stage director. Despite making only six films, he is regarded as a pioneer of the cinéma du look film movement. In 1982, he won the César Award for Best First Feature Film for Diva and achieved his greatest commercial success in 1986 with Betty Blue, an adaptation of Philippe Djian's novel. Starting in the 1990s, Beineix primarily focused on directing and producing documentaries for television and cinema.
