Call Me Agostino
Known as the co-screenwirter of around ten films by Jacques Rivette between 1989 and 2009, Christine Laurent also directed a few films characterized by a polished writing and a playful approach to directing, based on her experience as a set designer. We are showing her penultimate film, preserved in our collections.
Hélène, Marianne, lovers... One dreams and asks questions. The other pushes ahead and finds solutions. Paris, city of lights, its statues, its passageways, its dead ends, the Louvre, and an artisan's workshop, such as still exist in a few places, sketch out the setting for this film. Everything is a little serious, even if everything can be laughed at.
