Based on the novel of the same name by the Strugatsky brothers, Dead Mountaineer's Hotel is set in a hotel near a ski resort. The residents find themselves isolated by an avalanche. Surrounded by odd vacationers, police inspector Glebski is forced to investigate a suspicious murder committed on the property.
Grigori Kromanov
Grigori Kromanov was an Estonian theatre and film director. He directed some of the best known Estonian movies, including The Last Relic (Viimne reliikvia, 1969) and Dead Mountaineer's Hotel ('Hukkunud Alpinisti' hotell, 1979). He also made the 1976 film Diamonds for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, based on the homonymous detective novel by Yulian Semyonov.
