JP lives with his brother Vincent, his mother Joe, and his girlfriend Mel in a small apartment in Verdun. Living on the edge, JP tries to navigate the many demands of his family—for whom he feels responsible—his job as a collector, which he does with his brother, and his role in his uncle Dany’s small drug cartel, whom he considers a father figure.
Sophie Dupuis
Sophie Dupuis is known for her impactful style of storytelling and her brilliant talent as an actor’s director. After her first feature film Family First (Chien de garde, 2017), which was Canada's pick in the race for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, she directed Underground (Souterrain, 2020), a thriller film set in a gold mine in northern Québec. She won the Prix Iris for Best Screenplay at the Gala Québec Cinéma for this film. The incredibly talented Théodore Pellerin one again starred in her next film, Solo (2023), a love story between two drag queen performers and Simon’s attempt to reconnect with his mother. All three films won awards at the Québec Cinéma Gala.
