Gestes et mains
Focused on experimental cinema, this program illustrates, through a collection of recent works, the creative gesture as it unfolds through the representation of hands at work and its photogenic qualities.
Presented by Louise Bourque, Liliane Ehrhart, and Guillaume Vallée. In the presence of Leslie Supnet and Clint Enns.
Curated by filmmaker Louise Bourque at the invitation of researcher Liliane Ehrhart (UQAM), Gestes et mains is a program of experimental and documentary short films focusing on hands. Highlighting this part of the body as a figure, subject, or motif, the program invites viewers to think about the filmmakers' gestures as well as those filmed on screen. This screening will be followed by a study day entitled Gestes et mains dans le cinéma expérimental, to be held at UQAM on April 17.
