Once upon a time, a small village is plunged into darkness after Dragon Bijou eats the sun and the stars. Hugo, a village boy, flies into the sky and defeats the dragon. Hugo and the Dragon is a musical fantasy tale about adventure and discovery, and this film captures the imagination of kids everywhere.
Philippe Baylaucq
Philippe Baylaucq has made a name for himself with his video, interactive, museological and cinematographic work. Winner of numerous awards, his films demonstrate a clear interest in the transmission of knowledge. For several decades now, he has been exploring the dialogue between cinema and other artistic disciplines: architecture and design, painting, photography, and dance. An all-rounder, he also directed a musical tale for children, Hugo and the Dragon (2001), a scientific film, Mind in Motion (2008) and a moving international documentary, A Dream for Kabul (2008). Since 2014, he has signed several 360° immersive works for Espace pour la vie - Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan de Montréal. Winner of the Prix Lumières in 2001 for his contribution to the advancement of his profession, he chaired the ARRQ (1996-2000) as well as the RIDM (2005-2011) and was vice-president of the Conseil des arts de Montréal (2011-2018).
