I'm Still Here
The mission of the Centre d'art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise (CAECQ) is to primary program Quebec-made documentaries and independent fiction, as well as international documentaries, animated and foreign films, while encouraging opportunities for meetings between the public and the artists. Its programming is presented in conjunction with the Cinémathèque québécoise’s under the label New releases.

In 1971, Brazil faces the tightening grip of a military dictatorship. Eunice Paiva, a mother of five children, is forced to reinvent herself after her family suffers a violent and arbitrary act by the government. Based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva's biographical book, the film tells the true story that helped reconstruct an important part of Brazil’s hidden history.

Walter Salles
Walter Salles is a Brazilian film director. His film Central Station (1998) received the Sundance-NHK Screenplay Award and won the Golden Bear and the award for Best Actress at the Berlin Film Festival. It was also nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actress for Fernanda Montenegro, while it also won the Golden Globe and the BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language. Salles’ The Motorcycle Diaries (2005), a biographical film about the 1952 journey of Ernesto "Che" Guevara and his friend, Alberto Granado, across South America, received two Academy Award nominations and won the BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language. Linha de Passe (2008), co-written and directed by Salles and Daniela Thomas, won the Best Actress Award for Sandra Corveloni at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2009, Salles received the Robert Bresson Award at the Venice Film Festival for his body of work. I’m Still Here, a project developed over several years, reunites Salles and his longtime collaborators, Fernanda Torres and Fernanda Montenegro, and premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.
