Fantasia is once again offering films that reflect the vitality of genre cinema throughout the history of Quebec cinema. An homage to filmmaker Jean-Claude Lord will also be held on this occasion.

Roxane is a world famous pop singer. After one of her shows, she is kidnapped by a gang of kidnappers who demand a large ransom to see her alive again. Roxane's father, Paul, decides to pay the ransom and have his company's accountant, Francis, a somewhat simple-minded man, deliver her. Then a lot of things happen that will complicate the delivery of the money to the kidnappers.
Louis Saia
Louis Saia is a Québécois director, screenwriter, and actor. For more than 40 years, he has been associated with the success of numerous comedy productions in television, film, and theater. In addition to a very close collaboration over the years with Louise Roy, he collaborated early on with actor and screenwriter Claude Meunier, whether directing the shows for Paul et Paul (1978, 1980), co-writing Broue and Les voisins, or co-writing scripts for Ding et Dong (1987, 1991). He also directed and created several shows for Rock et Belles Oreilles and other comedians. In the mid-1990s, he co-wrote the first 26 episodes of La petite vie with Claude Meunier, the biggest hit in Quebec television history. He eventually wrote and directed his first feature film, Le sphinx, in 1995. From 1995 to 1998, he wrote the scripts for the teen sitcom Radio Enfer, while simultaneously achieving one of the biggest box-office hits in Quebec cinema with Les Boys (1997), for which he wrote and directed two sequels (1998, 2001) and a television series (2007–2012). He sometimes contributed to the Histoires de filles (1999–2008) series, his third foray into the world of sitcoms.
