Letter from an Unknown Woman
In tribute to the writer Stefan Zweig, here's a cycle of films presented in collaboration with the Canadian Centre for German and European Studies (CCGES) at the Université de Montréal and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Ottawa.
A loose adaptation of Stefan Zweig's short story of the same name, Letter from an Unknown Woman tells the story of Stefan Brand, a famous seductive pianist, who arrives home one evening to find himself reading a letter from Lisa Berndle, a secret admirer in love with him. Events from the past resurface with repercussions that reach into the present.
