The mission of the Centre d'art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise (CAECQ) is to primary program Quebec-made documentaries and independent fiction, as well as international documentaries, animated and foreign films, while encouraging opportunities for meetings between the public and the artists. Its programming is presented in conjunction with the Cinémathèque québécoise’s under the label New releases.

Chloé Cinq-Mars
Chloé Cinq-Mars is a Quebecois film director. She has also worked on numerous films, both shorts and features, primarily as a screenwriter, but also as an acting coach, casting director, and script consultant. She wrote the screenplay for David Uloth's feature film, Dérive (2018), and wrote and directed the short film La coupure (2019), about maternal attachment. Peau à peau (2025) is her first feature film.
