Jafar Panahi
Jafar Panahi, is an Iranian director commonly associated with the Iranian New Wave film movement and was quickly recognized as one of Iran's most influential filmmakers .He won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2000 for The Circle, the Golden Bear at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival for Taxi Tehran and In 2018 he won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Screenplay for Three Faces. Sentenced in 2010 by the Iranian judiciary to 6 years in prison for propaganda against the regime, he was placed on parole until his arrest in july 2022 at the age of 62.
